Van Persie could visit Kenya to support wife's projects with SOS Kisumu
Celebrated Arsenal and Dutch striker Robin Van Persie could soon visit Kenya to see some of the projects his wife Bouchra Van Persie has helped initiate to improve lives of children living in SOS Village in Kisumu.
Bouchra visited SOS Children’s Village Eldoret in 2010 to film documentary that helped drum up support for the construction of a fifth SOS Children’s Village in Kisumu. Then she was accompanied by the Winonah de Jong and Esmeralda Blokland-Jaliens, spouses of Manchester City midfielder, De Jong and Blokland-Jaliens who plays in the Polish League for Wisła Kraków.
After planting the first tree in 2010 ,the Kisumu SOS home opened its doors last Friday to seventy children who now have a place they can call home. Eighty more kids can be accommodated in the new Kisumu SOS home..
During her first visit Bouchra who was moved to tear after seeing the appalling conditions told SOS Children's Village Kenya; "We live in a distant part of the world and we thought our coming here would of great benefit for the hundreds of children in Kenya who are in need”
Now her dream has become a reality and the husband seems keen to join in her efforts. This week Van Persie tweeted: "Hope to go there with my wife @bouchra_vp to see the result in Kisumu one day! "
Van Persie has scored 56 goals since the start of the 2010-2011 season. For the last 8 seasons he has been with Arsenal he has found the net 129 times. Arsenal is the most followed EPL side in Kenya and RVP would find himself at home in any part of country.
PSG, Manchester City and Barcelona are interested in the Dutch forward who has less than 18-months left of his contract with gunners. PSG are ready to fork £100million to land the goal scoring machine.
