Rangers FC coach James Nandwa will lead Harambee Stars team that will travel to Kingston Jamaica for an international friendly against the Reggaeboyz on 25th August. Nandwa has been in charge of the national under-23 side and has so far registered what many would term decent results.

He recently guided the team to a 3-1 win over Bostwana in Nairobi, barren draw with Guinea in Conakry and a 1-0 loss to star studded Senegal in Dakar. The same team got a 5-0 thrashing by Egypt’s senior team but got valuable experience in the process.

FKF’s chairman of the technical committee Elly Mulokwe told michezoafrika.com: “We have a friendly against Jamaica on 25th and since we have not finished on the process of hiring a foreign coach, we have appointed the able James Nandwa to take care of the team for the Jamaica friendly.”

Nandwa’s choice of players for the national team has also received praises from many quarters. Nandwa is expected to name his team soon in preparation for the oncoming invitational friendly match against Jamaica.

FKF on Wednesday released a list of ten foreign coaches who have been shortlisted to take over the head coaching role of the national soccer team Harambee Stars. The preferred coach will be appointed and named soon after an interviewing process.
