SCARE: Is your MONEY safe in M-PESA, It had been HACKED! NOOO


  Safaricom’s MPesa services had been down since yesterday 10.oo am morning.
The integrated communication service provider announced on twitter; @SafaricomLtd We are experiencing a technical fault affecting M-PESA Service. Our technical team is working on quick resolution. Inconvenience regretted.

They later on posted a press release explaining the situation at hand, Leading Integrated Communications service provider Safaricom regrets to inform its customers of an outage on the M-PESA service since 10.00 am this morning.
As a result of this, M-PESA customers are not able to access M-PESA services including sending money, depositing and withdrawals, ATM withdrawals, buying airtime, bank to M-PESA, pay bill and buy goods as well as web transactions.

Expressing regret over this outage, Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore said, “Our technical team is working around the clock to ensure that the service is operational within the shortest time possible. We would also like to assure all our M -PESA customers that their money is safe.”

Several clowns on social media took the opportunity to scare unknowing Kenyans to believe that Safaricom had been hacked and they were set to lose their money. Panic was reflected by the comments many posted. Have a look:

Winny E Knight true,i had 685 kwa mpesa,nkawasha phone leo morning ilikua 68500 nisha withdraw but sa naogopa kuhandwa solo nishare na nani???
For now, Mpesa is back.
