Remembered for his half volley netting the first goal of the 2010 FIFA World cup against Mexico, Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Lawrence   Siphiwe Tshabalala said it was wonderful to play in Kenya and against the Harambee Stars.
The tricky left footed winger, with good pace and the ability to deliver some fantastic crosses into the box, played in the first half in Bafana Bafana’s 2-1 win of Kenya’s Harambee stars before paving way for Siphiso Nyeni. He admitted Kenya played great football and was therefore an honour for him to be part of the Bafana team.
“Kenya gave us good match with both teams having chances of their own. Being my first time in the country I must say I enjoyed playing in the stadium away from home. Kenya has good players too, most of whom it was my first time to play against.” He noted.
“We are preparing for the African Cup of Nations which we shall be hosting next year. We have to be in good form as the host nation. Having lost to Poland before this match makes the gives us morale and morale to move well ahead.” said the 26 year old.
