National U-20 head coach Stanley Okumbi has added more power to his striking force to ensure clean victory when Kenya face Egyptian ‘Young Pharaohs’ on Saturday in the return leg of the Africa Youth championship qualifiers.

The tactician has called in the services of Gor Mahia hit man Edwin Lavasta who missed the first way away match in Cairo as well as Kabras United Stephen Wakenya who also happens to be FKF division 1 Zone B top scorer. Lavatsa scored the team’s equalizing goal during a friendly match against Mathare United on Tuesday.

“Away to Cairo we went with two strikers, majorly that was due to the fact that our strategy of play required so. Besides we had limited number of players to travel with.” Team manager Hillary Musundi told michezoafrika.com.

“Playing at home in a must win encounter, we need like four good forwards to do the job. Enock Agwanda of Sony Sugar as well as Timothy Otieno of Congo United played well in Egypt and  given we will be attacking more,  we need more strikers,” said Hillary Musundi the team manager.

22 players attended the Wednesday morning training at the city stadium and apart from the normal training session, the players were also taken through penalty shoot outs which is a likely scenario should the two teams settle for another barren draw against Egypt in Nairobi.

“That is crucial aspect of such matches. It is a must win situation. If worse   comes to worst, we must be prepared for the kicks as winner has to be determined. We also want to prepare our keepers well enough and reduce fears associated with penalties. We are looking forward to winning the match on normal time,” said Musundi.

Enock Agwand, Otieno Timothy and Athman Mzee did not take part in the training session, the former is away on duty with club, Otieno in Mombasa for schools’ nationals while the latter had a minor injury.
