There has been a silent feud between Kenyan Swahili artists and their Bongo counterparts. However, Kenyan artists seem to be rising to the call and taking up the Swahili mantle, ensuring that the Kenyan fan gets the full potion of Swahili music. Totti is one of the few artists I have come across in a long time that makes me want to replay his music again and again.
Totti’s new song, Wangu is a showcase of the great talent that the Kenyan coast has and it is not just a well written song but one that is accompanied by a great video, showcasing the beauty of the Kenyan coast, sunsets and the great beaches. Totti’s future in music is as bright as the sun rays in this video, I hope he keeps on keeping on.
