Mombasa County Tourism Minister Anthony Njaramba
A meeting called by Mombasa County Minister for Tourism Anthony Njaramba to help unite the county performing artists was turned into a platform to publicly display disunity and petty differences by the county’s secular artists .
Drama started after the Minister requested that each group of performing artists present in the meeting choose a representative/ leader who will act as a link between the county govt through the minister and the artists. Gospel artists settled on King fish with producers going for producer Totti.
The process to choose the representative for the secular artists took almost half an hour with different artists suggesting different individuals who included Johny Skani, Ali B, Kingsting and Amoure Baby , the artists failed to settle on one of their own prompting the minister to choose for them a representative.
Artists Johny Skani, Ali B and Kingsting were forced to voluntarily step down from the list of candidates due to the immaturity and petty differences portrayed by their fellow artists.
“since you guys cannot choose your representative then i will choose for you and when you will finally grow up you will be able to choose” said Njaramba.
Njaramba chose little known Hannington Alulu whose stage name is Alulu.
Njaramba called on the artists to ensure that they find amicable mechanisms which will help them in solving their differences.
Njaramba argued “You can use your different groups to find amicable mechanisms that will help you solve the differences that you guys are facing”
The minister is also expected to meet other players in the county’s entertainment industry from next week.
